Police in Entebbe are holding five suspects in connection with the murder of Mengo Nursing School student.

During a weekly press briefing at Central Police Station, Kampala on Monday, Police Spokesperson Emilian Kayima said 24-year-old James Lutaaya’s body was recovered on Sunday morning dumped in a trench in Entebbe Division A.

The police identified the deceased with help of the National Identity card which was found on the body.

“We have suspicion that the deceased was strangled to death,” Kayima revealed adding that the body has been taken to Mulago Hospital for postmortem.

He explained that Lutaaya had come home for the weekend and together with a group of others, they went out drinking up to about 4am. Kayima revealed five of his friends that were with him the previous night have been arrested to help police investigations.

The killers reportedly took unspecified amount of money and a phone from the deceased.

“They took his money and the phone, we hope the phone will help us in tracking the suspects,” Kayima said.
