Police in Kassanda district have arrested three suspects in connection with the shooting of singer Gilson Wabuyo (25), popularly known as Gravity Omutujju.

Wamala region police spokesperson Nobert Ochom says the three suspects include; Amos Muhebwa a private security guard attached to the 1980 Kabalega War Veterans Association security group, who pulled his trigger to shoot the Artiste. Police have also recovered the gun from the security guard. “The scene has been cordoned off and inquiries at hand on file KSD/CRB/111/2019,” Ochom said without revealing identities of the other two suspects.

The Zakutudde singer was shot twice in the stomach by a security guard at LK Petrol Station in Bukunya Subcounty in Kassanda district on Wednesday at around 9:45pm. “Its alleged that the singer was heading to Lwebitute trading center for a show and made a stopover at the fuel station waiting to be led to the venue after fueling, before a security guard identified as Amos Muhebwa fired at his crew,” Ochom said

He added that police are investigating the motive of the shooting, however reports suggest that Gravity first embroiled in a brawl with the security guard, as he ordered him to drive away from his guard point. The victim sustained bullet wounds around the stomach and was rushed to blue star clinic in Bukuya for first aid.
