Former Miss Uganda Sylvia Allibhai nominated for Mrs World Uganda 2021
Sylvia Wilson Namutebi Allibhai’s eyes are on Sri Lanka, having been nominated to represent Uganda as Mrs World Uganda at the Mrs World Pageant.
Mrs Alllibhai will be traveling to the South Asian nation in March 2021 for the competition.
It should be recalled that she was Miss Uganda 2011 and she has also represented the East African nation at a number of international pageantry platforms like Miss World and Miss Global International.
Like the pageant title suggests, accomplished married women from various nations have contested for the title of Mrs World since its inception in 1985.
Media personality Crystal Newman and musician-turned-humanitarian Halima Namakula are the other Ugandans that have vied for this accolade having participated in 2011 and 2009 respectively.
Namutebi is married to Talent Africa Group Chief Executive Aly Allibhai.
She was the driving force behind the revival of the Miss Uganda Pageant and was instrumental in the campaign that saw Quinn Abenakyo crowned as Miss World Africa in 2018-2019.
She has a degree in Human Resource Management and is passionate about philanthropy which she does through the Talent Africa Foundation.
