This becomes yet another big international award that Kenzo has won. In March this year, the ‘Jubilation’ singer won the award of Best African Entertainer at the 36th edition of the International Reggea and World Music Awards that took place at the University of Chicago in the US. At these same awards he beat of competition from Wizkid, Davido, ShataWale and Stonebwoy from Ghana. The Ugandan superstar was the first winner of the BET International Viewers’ Award in 2015 and has won several others including AFRIMA Awards and Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
Kenzo’s success story is nothing but magical given that he started from a struggle until he rose to fame just out of the blue. He hit a jack pot in 2014 after releasing the ‘Sitya Loss’ song which earned him international recognition and had over 10,000 views per day.
This song has since garnered millions of views and has been shared by prominent celebrities like Ellen Degeneres, Puff Daddy, Akon, Ronaldinho, Tevin Cambell, Sanaa Lathan and so many more worldwide. The ‘ghetto kids’ that he featured in the sitya Loss video have also from then been recognized in the world of entertainment.
