General Kainerugaba was among hundreds of guests who attended the political star studded event. Other high profile guests included Minister of ICT and National Guidance Hon.Frank Tumwebaze, the Member of Parliament for Mbale Municipality Hon.Jack Wamai, Lt.Col.Edith Nakalema a Senior Presidential Private Secretary, Hon.Sanjay Tanna (the former MP for Tororo Municipality) and Robert Kabushenga the CEO for the Vision Group.

The newlywed couple later hosted their guests to a reception at Mbale Resort Hotel.  General Kainerugaba who was the chief guest explained why he contrary to habit had decided to attend Don’s wedding. ‘I don’t usually attend social functions partly due to character but also partly due to the training we received in the military’ the General said.

'When we were training as young soldiers and officers our instructors would emphasize that soldiers must be lions; that they were training us to be lions. The President too drilled this into us at an early age. So you don’t find lions at weddings or other social events’ Kainerugaba said sending the guests into laughter.

The General continued to say that however he had decided to make an exception because Don was a ‘Rare’ individual who was guided by truth and fairness.

‘Don is a principled person who is guided by truth as a belief system, as a philosophy for life. He is also a unifier, that’s why we have people of different thinking at this wedding. Such people are rare and Uganda certainly needs more people like him.’ General Kainerugaba said.

He advised the couple to listen to each other and ensure they are always the best of friends.
