PARLIAMENT. It was until her birthday that Deputy Director of Communication and Public Affairs (CPA) at Parliament, Helen Nanteza Kawesa ‘reconciled’ with her boss, Chris Obore.
Kawesa and Obore have visibly not been in good talking terms since the latter’s controversial appointment as director, CPA in 2015 and the two have been reportedly embroiled in a cold war with each party clustering their own staff.
However, on Monday, Kawesa and Obore shared a rare smile as the ever jolly man from Teso led others to celebrate the former’s birthday.
Obore and CPA team were on Monday meeting with executive members of Uganda Parliamentary Press Association (UPPA) led by the President of the Association Moses Mulondo at his office.

After the discussions, Assistant Director, CPA Ismail Ranny reminded the meeting that it was Kawesa’s birthday.
At that moment, Obore led the team and chanted birthday songs as Ranny handed a nearby bouquet to the birthday girl who could not hold the excitement to herself, but rather hobnob with Obore.
The two danced together side by side like a fresh couple at their first date. It was the first time that Kawesa and Obore were in such Public Display Affection (PDA) since 2015. It was such a lovely scene to watch as Kawesa laughed from ear to ear as the chants intensified with Obore trying to get the best of her dancing moves.
It was a great feeling to see the two in good terms, thus ending media speculations that there is a big feud between them.
Happy birthday, Helen!
