Miss Tourism Uganda has announced queens from Busoga that will face off with those picked from different parts of the country.
The winner is Ishany Siriman Mwonda, the first runner-up is Shakira Kadhanah and Joan Florence Namwende was the second runner-up.
"Words can’t describe how proud we are to have the opportunity to show the rich cultural heritage and untouched natural beauty of Busoga on an international platform through our very own tourism ambassador," the organizers said in a statement.
The crowning event was officiated by the speaker of parliament Anita Among, who rallied Busoga to promote tourism.
"We believe that the queens have the capacity to positively impact the image of the region and improve the livelihoods of our people through tourism," she said
The final event to crown Miss Tourism Uganda will be held on September 23 at Kampala Serena Hotel.
