MPs camp in Teso ahead of Gen Muhoozi’s Visit

The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among has directed Members of Parliament to camp in Bukedea District ahead of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s Teso tour that is starting tomorrow, Monday.

Among, who on Sunday hosted more than 200 MPs to a Thanksgiving ceremony at her country residence in Kamutur Sub-County in Bukedea urged the legislators not to return to Kampala, but rather wait to welcome Gen Muhoozi, the Senior Presidential Advisor in charge of Special Operations.

“Honourable members, I have a function tomorrow [Monday] and I want to direct all members who are around and those who are about to arrive to kindly attend that function. I will be receiving my brother, Gen Muhoozi in Bukedea,” Among said during the Thanksgiving Mass that was led by the Bishop of Soroti Catholic Diocese, Rt Rev Dr. Joseph Eciru Oliach.

Among, who is also Bukedea Woman MP rallied the general public to join her in welcoming Gen Muhoozi, who will step foot in Kachumbala, Bukedea en route to Soroti for the mega baraza on Tuesday. Muhoozi and his MK Movement will hold their first Teso baraza at Kongunga Primary School in Kachumbala.

The MK Movement coordinator for Eastern region, Peter Ogwang, who also doubles as the Minister of State for Sports said that a huge procession will wait for Gen Muhoozi at Kongunga where he is expected to briefly address the people before marching with them to Soroti city through Kumi district.
