President Yoweri Museveni is meeting Arts teachers at Kololo Ceremony Grounds over the ongoing industrial action regarding salary disparities.

Arts teachers laid down their tools on June 15, paralysing teaching and learning in most government-funded schools. The strike is premised on the government’s commitment to have a 300% salary increment to the science teachers. The measure has caused uproar from the arts teachers who are also calling for a pay rise.

Despite several meetings with the arts teachers, a consensus has not yet been met prompting the strike to drag for more than 2 weeks now.
