
Museveni to preside over groundbreaking for Mityana-Mubende road reconstruction
President Yoweri Museveni will today officiate at the groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction of Mityana—Mubende road, which an 86Km stretch.
The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) says it will also start the upgrading of Mityana town roads. UNRA says the road is a “vital link on the national road grid” and it contributes “immensely” to the economic growth of Mityana, Mubende, and nearby districts.
Uganda has a total road network of about 159,366km comprising 20,854km national roads; 38,603kms are district roads, 19,959kms are urban roads and 79,947kms and community access roads.
The groundbreaking event will occur at 12pm.
The president will later commission the new government hospital in Mityana.
At 7pm, the president will deliver radio/TV addresses focusing on West Nile, Acholi and Lango sub-regions.
