MBALE. The Senior Presidential Adviser in Charge of Special Operations, Maj Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has made a Shs5 million contribution to St Austin Catholic Church in Mbale towards its development projects.
The cash contribution was delivered today (Saturday) to the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Alex Oketch, by the President’s Senior Press Secretary, Mr Don Wanyama.
Last Saturday, November 10th, Gen Kainerugaba was among hundreds of friends and relatives who attended Mr Wanyama's wedding to Rita Neumbe at St Austin Church in Mbale.
At the wedding, Gen Kainerugaba was notified about several projects being undertaken by the church, including paving its compound and buying furniture. He then committed Shs5 million towards these projects.
In a written message, Rev. Fr. Oketch, the parish priest, thanked Gen Kainerugaba for visiting their church and supporting their projects.
"I take this opportunity to convey to you my sincere appreciation for the Shs5 million support accorded towards our church projects. I certify that I have received your generous donation. We have at least five major projects underway that need support," wrote Fr Oketch.
He thanked the Wanyamas for extending an invitation to Gen Kainerugaba to attend their wedding and therefore enabling the church host him and other dignitaries.
Fr Oketch also thanked President Museveni and the government for ensuring peace prevails in the country.
