Kisoro Police Recover AK47 Rifle from Stones

Kigezi Region Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident saying that one Tushimyimana Ronald (17 years) and Buchanayandi Samuel (16 years) while grazing cows, sat on a fenced wall made of stones when one Tushimyimana picked a stone from the fence to throw it to a cow, that is when he saw something that was later identified to be a rifle.

Police in Kisoro district have recovered an AK47 rifle with 22 rounds of ammunition.

The gun was recovered on Sunday at Rukolo village, Nyakabingo parish, Kyahi sub county, Kisoro District.

Kigezi Region Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident saying that one Tushimyimana Ronald (17 years) and Buchanayandi Samuel (16 years) both residents of the above village while grazing cows in the same area, sat on a fenced wall made of stones when one Tushimyimana picked a stone from the fence to throw it to a cow, that is when he saw something that was later identified to be a rifle.

Maate says that Police from Kyanika visited the Scene and investigations into the matter are ongoing.

Police commended the vigilance and cooperation by this particular community in Kisoro and asked all other members of the public to do the same in the fight against crime and criminality in the country.
