Museveni Renews Lt Gen Andrew Gutti's Term as Court Martial Boss

Gen Kayihura was arrested by the UPDF last wednesday and is expected to appear before the military court over charges that have been kept away from the public thus far.

KAMPALA. President Yoweri Museveni who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces has reappointed Lt Gen Andrew Gutti as the Chairman of the General Court Martial. 

The UPDF spokesperson Brig Richard Karemire confirmed the news in a social media message congratulating Gen Gutti on his 3rd term.

“Congratulations to Lt Gen Andrew Gutii and team for being reappointed by the High Command to the UPDF General Court Martial,” Brig Karemire said.

Gutti was first appointed to that position in May 2016, replacing the late Major General Levi Karuhanga. 

Lt Gen. Gutti's reappointment comes after the arrest and detention of former Inspector General of Police Gen Kale Kayihura.

Gen Kayihura was arrested by the UPDF last wednesday and is expected to appear before the military court over charges that have been kept away from the public thus far.
