The on-going retreat for the NRM's Central Executive Committee (CEC) members at Chobe Safari Lodge will be running under the theme, 'Building on Solid Achievements, Consolidating the Unity of NRM and the Transformation of Wanainchi, towards achieving Vision 2040'. This is according to Rogers Mulindwa, the NRM Communications Manager.
President Yoweri Museveni, who is also the national party chairman is chairing the retreat. He arrived on Friday and was received by the party’s Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba. He is expected to present a paper on ideology and strategy.
In his capacity as the national party chairman, President Museveni invited the CEC members for this retreat in a February 7, notice.
“Notice is hereby given that a retreat of the Central Executive Committee will be heldThe retreat that among others seeks to discuss constitutional amendments, officially started today (Saturday) and will run until Wednesday. from Friday February 15, 2019 to Wednesday February 20, 2019 at Chobe Safari Lodge to consider the following thematic areas; ideology and strategy, the economy, constitutional amendments and resource mobilization,” the President wrote.
Other than the NRM national Chairman Yoweri Museveni and party Secretary General, Justine Kasule Lumumba, others present include; the party’s 1st national vice chairperson Hajji Moses Kigongo, CEC members; Rebecca Kadaga (2nd National Vice Chairperson), Ruhankana Rugunda (Historical Member), Maj Gen Matayo Kyaligonza (Western Region), Mike Mukula (Eastern Region), Sam Engola (Northern Region) and Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi (Veterans representative).
Present also is; Kirunda Kivejinja (Historicals), Lydia Wanyoto (Women), Ruth Nankabirwa (NRM Parliamentary Caucus),Kato Gabriel (PWD s), Gidudu Mafabi (Elderly), Rukari Robert (Entreprenuers), James Tweheyo (Workers), Huda Oleru (Special Nominee) and Hajji Nasur Gadafi (Youth) and Gen. Kahinda Otafire among others.
