The Secretary General of the Future Movement Party, a ruling Political Party in Lebanon, Hon. Ahmed Mustafa Elhariri has arrived in Uganda.
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Communications Officer, Rogers Mulindwa in the statement released on Tuesday evening said the delegation arrived on Tuesday afternoon for a four day official visit.
He added that the Lebanese Secretary General (SG) was received at Entebbe International Airport by the NRM Deputy National Treasurer, Dr. Kenneth Omona on behalf of Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba.
”The Lebanese SG leads a delegation of about 20 potential investors. Dr. Omona says the delegation is here to meet the NRM National Chairman and President Gen. Y.K Museveni,” said Mulindwa in the statement.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday afternoon at State House, Entebbe.
On arrival, Dr. Omona entertained his guests to a brief political history of Uganda from the Airport V.I.P Press room before driving to Kampala.
Future Movement Party is Lebanese political movement, led by MP Saad Hariri, the younger son of the assassinated former Prime Minister of Lebanon, Rafic Hariri.
The movement is the largest member of the March 14 Alliance, which won a majority of the seats in the 2009 parliamentary elections.
The Party was officially founded in August 2007, yet it was only declared on April 5, 2009 in a convention held at the BIEL convention center in Beirut.
Like many Lebanese parties, the Future Movement is officially secular, and the economically liberal Future Movement is predominantly supported by the Sunni Muslims of Lebanon.
Lebanon is a sovereign state in Western Asia. It is bordered by Syria to the north and east and Israel to the south, while Cyprus is west across the Mediterranean Sea. It is the smallest recognized country on the entire mainland Asian continent.
