Leaders in Ntoroko district, Rwenzori region have enormously voted for the constitution amendment and lifting of the presidential age limit to allow President Yoweri Museveni rule this country for another term of office come 2021.

This was during the consultative meeting organized by the area Mp Ibanda Gerald Rwemulikya held in Rwebisengo Town Council on Friday.

The leaders, who were chanting “Museveni Abeho” literally meaning Museveni should live, asked their MP Hon Rwemulikya to support the Amendment of the constitution to lift the Presidential age limits.

“We strongly support the amendment of the constitution and removal of the age limit. This will allow president Museveni stand for another term of office as president of this country. Museveni has brought peace and stability in this country unlike the past leaders when we experienced bloodshed,” they said.

They added, “As our members of parliament, we ask you not to listen to the opposition who want to cause chaos and instability in the county but support the constitution amendment on the floor of parliament.”

They cited the better road network, women emancipation, peace and stability in all regions, education for all in primary and secondary among others that President Museveni has done for Ugandans.

Out of the 200 delegates only one-person identified as Steady Dan the Chairperson of Rwebisengo Town Council opposed the constitution amendment.

Speaking to the delegates, MP Rwemulikya said amending the constitution is lawful and was brought in good faith. He added that it will enable youths stand on different political positions without being limited.
