KAMPALA. A section of Ugandans on social media have mocked Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine after he declared that he is considering to give President Yoweri Museveni a run for his money in the 2021 presidential elections.

While speaking to CNN on Thursday, Bobi Wine was asked if he will stand for presidency in the 2021 general polls to which he answered saying, “Well, this question has come up several times and indeed many people have come to me calling me to stand for presidency against Museveni. We have been discussing this issue with my team and I must say I and my team are seriously considering challenging President Museveni in the next presidential election.”

His declaration has received mixed reactions on social media with majority saying that Bobi Wine’s ‘premature’ presidential bid will offer President Museveni an ‘automatic’ 6th term in 2021. However, others cheered him up promising that they will vote him if he contests against Museveni.

We bring you some of the social media responses to Bobi Wine’s presidential bid;

“Have never been voting but this time I will consider voting for Bobi,” Mugisha Oscar

“M7 will get over 80% and Bobi, trust me will get less than 10%,” Colline Anyeko

“Uganda is a big country for Mr kyagulanyi . Needs alot of work to gather votes from all corners of Uganda that's the reality don't be fooled by uban centers,” Douglas Kafumbe

“I will give him [Bobi] my Virgin vote. I have never participated in any election,” Dominic Kumam

“Why should the voters organize and yet he [Bobi] and his team are not organized. Under what umbrella should they organize?” Denis Katushabe.

Recently, Senior Presidential Advisor on the media relations, John Nagenda said that Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine needs a whopping two decades to mature enough to run for president.

While appearing on NBS Television’s Morning Breeze programme on Monday, the soft-spoken columnist said that whereas Bobi Wine is a good singer, the artist turned politician is not good enough to run the affairs of this country as president.

“Any person who thinks that Bobi Wine could run a country must be mad,” Nagenda said.
