KAMPALA. After three weeks of inactivity, Pemba Warriors and Betway Power return to the National Basketball League for their second games in three days. Warriors play struggling Falcons while Power are up against an Our Saviour team that has also made a slow start. And it is the Warriors who will be the happier of the two teams after retaining the bragging rights from Friday’s 72-66 win over their traditional rivals.

Veteran guard Mike Buzangu proved unplayable on the day dropping a game high 36 points as Warriors remained the only unbeaten team in the league. Wire-to-wire lead Fourteen of those points came in a 25-20 start for the Warriors who never trailed throughout the game and had a 39-25 lead at the half way point. Power rallied to win in the final period 25-14 with Michael Makiadi leading with a team high 21 points. By then the game had already been taken away from them by one of the best individual performances of the season thus far. “The only positive we can pick is that we tried chasing the game late on,” Power captain Joseph Ikong stated. The Warriors will now be targeting a fifth straight win against a Falcons side that beat Sharing Youth 65-34 for their first win in four games this season.
