Local football governing body FUFA on Wednesday unveiled new kits for the national men’s senior football team- The Uganda Cranes and their female counterparts - Crested Cranes at the Mandela National Stadium.
The event was graced by the FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo, Justus Mugisha (FUFA 1st Vice President), Darius Mugoye ( FUFA 2nd Vice President), Executive Committee Members Chris Kalibbala, Issa Magoola and Airtel Uganda Head Brand, Communications Remmie Kisakye.
The development comes just hours after President Museveni offered the men’s team a chartered plane, 200M Shillings and respective tokens ahead of their AFCON clash with Lesotho on Saturday.
The men’s kit is in red, white and yellow colours with a V-neck design and three national flag colours (Black, yellow and red) running down ways.
The kits were designed by Umar Mukasa and manufactured by Mafro.
The duo emerged as the best for the job in a competition set by FUFA with the supervision of FUFA Marketing and Communications department.
FUFA Boss Moses Magogo was thankful to all those who have been involved in the process of getting the new kits.
“We are grateful for this achievement and we thank everybody who has been with us in this journey,” Magogo told the media.
Uganda Cranes captain Denis Onyango also expressed delight and hopes that the new kits will be an inspiration this weekend.
“The jersey is nice and we hope it will motivate us to play well. We shall work hard to make our nation proud.” Onyango told journalists.
