The Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, Maj. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has donated a set of football jerseys complete with football boots to the first team of Oldies FC, a sports Club based in Kabowa, Rubaga Division.

Oldies FC emerged champions in October 2018 of the annual Muhoozi Victory Cup at Wankulukuku playground, a tournament that has been supported by the sports-loving General since 2013. The annual tournament, which involves football and netball games by teams from the central region was started by Pastor Fred Mayanja in 1993 to contribute to sports development in the country and has had different sponsors until 2013 when Gen. Kainerugaba took over.

“I’m very happy to fulfil my pledge today. You requested for a set of jerseys last October when you emerged champions of the tournament and now here they are. Please use them well and I wish you the best of luck,” said Gen. Kainerugaba as he handed over the jerseys to the team manager, Mr. Matovu Issa.

Oldies team manager Matovu thanked Gen. Kainerugaba for supporting the team noting that the team would now be smart in their brand new jerseys, which he noted was a big motivation for the players.

“The people of Kabowa are very happy with you sir. People thought the Oldies were old people, but we emerged victorious thanks to the support from sports enthusiasts like yourself,” said Matovu on behalf of his team.
