Former Uganda Cranes forward Alex Isabirye Musongola was on Wednesday named the new head coach of Uganda Premier League outfit Nyamityobora Football Club.
This follows James Odoch’s verbal resignation as club tactician after KCCA FC 6-1 ‘mauling’ on Sunday.
‘’Nyamityobora FC has appointed Alex Isabirye Musongola as the new head coach following James Odoch resignation on Sunday,’’ Herbert Sekyewunda - Media Relations Assistant to Club President Ben Immanuel Missaga said on Wednesday.
Isabirye will be making his second spell at the Western Uganda based outfit and his first task is to make amends for the 6-1 loss to KCCA FC.
Isabirye has been tactician at FUFA Big League outfit, Kyetume FC but he has terminated his 2 year contract for ‘better deal’ at Nyamityobora.
Meanwhile, the terms of the contract and financial issues surrounding the deal were not revealed by press time.
He also once coached top outfits like BUL FC, Masavu FC, URA FC, Soana FC, Kirinya Jinja SS and Victoria University.
Isabirye’s vast experience in the local game is expected to revive matters at Nyamityobora because the team is currently in a crisis.
Isabirye’s first task comes as early as this Friday November 30 when Nyamityobora play host to struggling giants SC Villa in a game both sides will be seeking redemption.
Nyamityobora is currently trailing the Uganda Premier League table along with Paidha Black Angels and SC Villa all with just 4 points off 8 fixtures.
