Match day 16 of the Azam Uganda Premier League on Saturday was a dull one after it produced only three wins, four draws and just five goals scored in the whole competition.

At Star Times stadium in Lugogo, Proline FC were handed a shocker after they fell prey to Kirinya Jinja SSS by a goal down.

Richard Amaku scored Kirinya's only goal at the 29th minute of the game after he slotted home from close range at Proline's turf.

The win implies that Kirinya have beaten Proline home and away after they won the reverse fixture 2-1 following Musa Esenu's brace in Jinja.

Kirinya are now 7th on the table with 21 points while Proline are fourth last with just 17 points.

On Tuesday, 13th February, Proline will visit relegation-bound UPDF FC while Kirinya return home to host Police at Bugembe stadium in Jinja.

After spending big during the season's break, URA FC's problems seem to be in continuity.

The tax collectors fell to a 1-0 defeat to a low profiled BUL FC at Kakindu stadium in Jinja.

Debutant Douglas Owori slotted home at the death hour to condemn the tax collectors to another defeat.

Earlier on, URA were reduced to ten men at the 36th minute when their goal keeper; Nafian Alionzi got sent off for catching a ball from outside his area.

On the other end, Vipers are aiming to clinch the top spot after registering an important 1-0 win away at Soana FC.

Debutant Daniel Sserunkuma was on target after slotting home just three minutes to the end of the match in Kavumba.

Meanwhile, SC Villa and Onduparaka were all held to a stale mate by Maroon FC and Express FC respectively.

The two giants were home but finding the back of the net became a big issue to be solved in the next game.

Action returns mid-week with many games on card across various turfs.
