Uganda Premier League outfit Kirinya Jinja SSS on Friday announced the signing of a Japanese box to box midfield sensation Sakaguchi Matasaka on a two year deal.
Matasaka, 23, joins the Jinja-based team from Toinyokahama University football team in Tokyo and is also a product of the Kawasaki Frontale Football Academy in Japan.
On the same day, the club also unveiled two other players; midfielder Amos Etoju from BUL FC and Sulaiman Wambede from Kataka FC.
Speaking after the unveiling, Matasaka expressed delight in his new club and promised the fans results.
''I am happy to play in the Ugandan top tier league and also outside my country. I will have to work hard for the team and I am promising the fans the best,'' Matasaka noted.
Matasaka will be the third foreign player to don a Kirinya shirt after Cameroonian duo of Makon Landry and Bertrand Ebode.
Kirinya Coach, Charles Ayiekoh was delighted with Matasaka’s arrival and is hoping that he delivers as expected.
‘’We are trying to build up for the next season in style and his arrival is a boost for us ahead of the campaign. We hope that he turns up well and deliver for the team,’’ Ayiekoh noted.
