Minister Byabagambi Emerges Best Senior Golfer at Amateur Golf Open Championship

After four rounds and 72 holes, Hon. Byabagambi managed a total gross of 384 which was the best score among senior golfers (gross category).

Cabinet Minister in charge of Karamoja Affairs John Byabagambi emerged the best senior amateur golfer (gross category) of the 2018 Castle Lite Uganda Golf Open Championship - Amateur Open over the weekend at Entebbe Golf Club.

The overall Amateur Championship was won by birthday boy (22 years) Ronald Otile who also won the same title in 2015 and 2016.

During the first round, Hon. Byabagambi bagged a gross 87 which was close to the score of some junior amateurs.

In the second round, he added two shots to his initial score this time round bagging a gross of 89 but in the third round, he had a gross of 92.

In the final (fourth) round, he managed to do his best this time managing a gross of 86 which was his best in the entire championship.

After four rounds and 72 holes, Hon. Byabagambi managed a total gross of 384 which was the best score among senior golfers (gross category).

Hon. Byabagambi teed off on Wednesday morning and was in the same group with Alex Coutinho and David Semambya Mpanga.

Pius Omara emerged winner at the subsidiary category off 78 stable ford points.

Tournament Director, John Katto graced the do.

''The tournament was great and it was a pure success. We thank the participants in their various capacities,'' Katto said.
