Nyamityobora Football Club head coach James Odoch on Sunday night stepped down as club gaffer after his side was condemned to a 6-1 'mauling' by KCCA FC on match day eight (Sunday) of the Uganda Premier League at Star Times Stadium Lugogo.
The 6-1 defeat was Nyamityobora’s heaviest loss ever since gaining promotion to the top flight league this season and Odoch saw it wise to give up his role as club tactician.
Nyamityobora has so far lost six, drawn one and won just a game in the Uganda Premier League.
Odoch is the third coach in the Uganda Premier League to lose his job this season after Asaph Mwebaze (Onduparaka FC) and Moses Basena (SC Villa) who did the same a fortnight ago.
‘’I have decided to resign my job as head coach of Nyamityobora FC after discussions with club director Ali Ssekatawa. I wish the club all the best,’’ Odoch told the media on Sunday night.
Odoch coached this team ever since the FUFA Big League days and albeit a dismal display at the top flight league, he is still a hero to some club faithful who once praised him when the team gained promotion.
Meanwhile, legend tells it that Spanish born club director and former SC Villa gaffer Antonio Flores is set to replace Odoch.
Nyamityobora will play host to struggling giants SC Villa on Friday, 30th November in a game both sides will be seeking redemption.
