Arua based Uganda Premier League outfits; Onduparaka Football Club on Wednesday fired head coach, Livingstone Mbabazi.
The sacking comes days after Onduparaka were convicted to a maiden home league defeat by SC Villa after a slim 0-1 loss, something that caused grumbling in ‘The Caterpillars’ camp.
‘’Management is concerned about the recent form and performance of the club and as such we have gathered opinions from our board, management and fans and come up with measures that will get the team back on track. These decisions are never taken lightly but always in the interest of the club,’’ the club statement read.
‘’We are in the results business and in the light of above, the management has asked its head coach Livingstone Mbabazi to step down with immediate effect,’’ it added.
Mbabazi was set to be on the touchline today as his side take on relegation threatened UPDF FC in Bombo during Game Day 21 of the top-flight league, but that will not happen.
As it stands now, the team will be taken care of by the following members of the Technical Bench; Leo Adra, Simon Masaba, Moses Oloya, Adiga Morris and Musema Ramathan.
Onduparaka who finished fifth last season under the care of Leo Adra have won just two of their last seven games something that saw Mbabazi being dragged to the ‘guillotine’.
Earlier this week, Onduparaka fans had accused some players of not giving their all to the club.
However, rumor has it that Leo Adra is likely to be named head coach especially basing on his good relationship with the players.
Express FC Coach, Shafiq Bisaso is also feared to face the axe soon after his side spending most part of the season at the relegation trail.
A few days ago, league debutants, Mbarara City FC also fired head coach, Ibrahim Kirya after the tactician failed to turn things around.
