Ugandan male long distance runner Ronald Musagala has made it to the African team that will compete at the 2018 IAAF Continental Cup in Ostrava, Czech Republic from September 8-9, 2018.
The team of 77 athletes was named by the Confederation of Africa Athletics (CAA) on Tuesday and Uganda's Musagala happened to be in the mix.
The other athletes comprise of sportsmen/women from various countries and will be representing both their countries and the continent during the IAAF do.
Musagala will be heading to Ostrava coming off a successful outing at the 2018 Africa Senior Athletics Championship in Nigeria where he won bronze.
Musagala who is also an Olympic finalist will compete at the men’s 1500m heat and will seek to impress in such a bigger stage.
Meanwhile, Cameroon, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Burundi, Swaziland, Uganda and Djibouti only have one athlete each on the team while the rest have many.
South Africa has the highest number of athletes (20) on the team. Nigeria follows with a total of 16 athletes while Kenya has nine. Morocco has a total of six athletes whereas Egypt and Ethiopia both have four on the team. Three athletes from Botswana and two each from Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Tunisia and Algeria are on the team.
