Victoria University has on Tuesday inaugurated 14 new Council members and attached them to their areas of specialization. 

In the colorful ceremony that took place at the University conducted by Her Worship Agnes Nkonge, Joram Kahenano was sworn in as chairperson of the Council specializing in leadership, while Joseph Biribonwa  became Vice Chair Person specializing in Governance.

Members of the Council who were sworn in are; Dr .Chirag Kotecha (specialized in Health), Andrew Mwenda (Specialized in Public and Journalism), James Kalebo  (Specialist in education), Dr. Mary Kanyiginya (Specialist in Human Resources),  Sameer Thakar (Specialist in finance), Dr.Kabonesa Consolate (Specialist in Gender/ Senate), Semambo Rashid (Specialist in Legal affairs), Dr. Lawrence Muganga  (Specialist in Education), H.E.Mark Serebe as Guild President, Victoria University, Walakira John Bosco as Victoria University staff representative and Katusabe Semwezi as Member.

During the function, Chancellor John Opuda Asibo called for need for the university to continue promoting quality learning to being out the best of the graduates. 
People should be transformative and whoever comes should get a first class because this university is capable of transforming them even if they come with a minimum requirement. This university is not a place of how well you enter it, but how well you get out of it," Prof Asibo said.

Chairperson Board of Governors represented by Rajiv Ruparelia pledged full support to the newly inaugurated council to ensure smooth running of the university curriculum and promote quality education. 

"If you want to be the best then you also ought to build the best team. Come up with plenty of innovations and opportunities, we shall support you and above all build a good working relationship with your clients who are your students because your biggest success is your students," Rajiv said.
