The Chief Whip of Opposition in the 11th Parliament, John Baptist Nambeshe will take over as Acting President of the National Unity Platform for the next three weeks after its President, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine will be in the United States of America.
While on his trip, Bobi Wine will meet his supporters and sponsors in various cities in the US.
Last month, the Kampala Post learnt of the trip with our sources saying: "In the US, they intend to meet the so-called NUP chapters in different cities. They also plan to meet certain Congressmen who are said to be supportive of their destructive agenda in the country."
The trip follows their loss in the January 14 presidential election in which Bobi Wine and NUP’s presidential flag bearer lost to President Yoweri Museveni who garnered 58% of the votes compared to Bobi Wine's 35%.
Bobi Wine has recently made several trips to the US where has met several groups including LGBT promoters.
Some of his known coordinators include Robert Amsterdam and Jeffrey Smith who have been campaigners of regime change in various African countries.
According to the statement dated June 20th, 2021 by Bobi Wine’s Secretary, Sarah Muwonge, Kyagulanyi will be out of the country for three weeks and will be replaced in the meantime by Nambeshe, the Manjiya County MP.
