Title: Bobi Wine Dismisses Mpuuga and Appoints Ssenyonyi as Leader of Opposition
The President of the National Unity Platform, Robert Kyagulanyi, commonly known as Bobi Wine, has removed Mathias Mpuuga from the position of Leader of Opposition (LoP) and appointed Joel Ssenyonyi to the role.
According to various sources, Mpuuga has been reassigned to a smaller role as a parliament commissioner.
Reportedly, Bobi Wine and Mpuuga have had prolonged disagreements, making Mpuuga’s removal expected.
It remains to be seen how these changes will impact the party, especially at a time when it is addressing the fallout from its leader's recent controversial remarks on homosexuality.
Insiders claim that Bobi Wine now desires a compliant LoP, a quality they believe Ssenyonyi possesses. It is suggested that Mpuuga did not appreciate Bobi Wine’s leadership and often disregarded his opinions, viewing him as a mere singer.
