Jacob Oulanyah's Bitter Rival Tolit Aketcha is Dead
Former Member of Parliament for Omoro county, Tolit Simon Akecha who is known for his bitter rivalry with former Speaker Jacob Oulanyah is dead.
Aketcha was most recently the NUP party’s flag bearer for the Omoro County Parliamentary By-election where Jacob Oulanya's son Andrew Ojok defeated him.
Tolit was a former FDC member and a former representative for Omoro in the August House before Jacob Oulanyah wrestled the seat from the veteran politician and businessman.
The two also tussled it out in the courts of law but the former Speaker emerged victorious.
Andrew Ojok Oulanyah, the son of the late Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah who is the the current MP for Omoro confirmed news of the Aketcha's death.
Describing Aketcha's death a dark day in Omoro, Mr Ojok said Omoro county has lost a gallant son.
"We have lost one of our gallant sons and former MP, Hon. Simon Toolit Akecha! Hon. Toolit was the MP for Omoro County between 2006 & 2011 and was a candidate in the recent by-elections. May his soul rest in eternal peace!" Ojok said on Twitter.
