KAMPALA. Artiste Fik Fameica has been dragged to Police over failing to turn up at the end of year concert in Hoima.
The ‘Kutama’ singer was meant to perform at an end of year party in Hoima on December 30, 2018 together with fellow artiste Sheebah Karungi.
Although Sheebah performed, Fameica did not show up despite claims by the event organizer that he had advanced him some money.
Julius Tusabe, also known as Kajengeje, a Hoima Music promoter who had organized the concert has lodged a case at Katwe Police station, seeking police intervention to recover his money advanced to the artiste.
Brandishing a payment receipt, Kajengeje claims to have advanced Fameica Sh4million as part payment for the Sh7million deal. According to the receipt Kajengeje showed to NBS Television, the money was paid through Kama Ivan, Fik Fameica’s Manager on November 9, 2018.
Despite the fact that the artiste had assured the fans of presence in his own voice, he did not turn up. He instead sent an apology claiming he had missed a flight from Tanzania where he had gone to record a video.
“Since they have not honoured our agreement that the artiste performs on Jan 6th as compensation, I now want my money back,” Kajengeje said. The case has been registered at Katwe Police Station SD 66/8/01/2019.
However, Fameica’s Manager Kama Ivan denies claims that the artiste also failed to perform on January 6 as later agreed. He says they had agreed that Fameica would perform on January 12.
