The Menstrual She-bang Fashion show, a brainchild of The Wellbeing Foundation, is returning this month for the second edition, The KampalaPost has learnt.

The show, which is organized in partnership with Wuzi Africa, is slated for May 28 at Design Hub in Bugolobi, Kampala.

This edition will feature seven fashion designers showcasing themes that will increase understanding of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights. Organizers say the event during the event the designers will some of their collections.

While last year's event focused on 'Period Shame', according to Shyka Lwanyaaga, the founder of The Wellbeing Foundation, this year they eye unlocking the limitless potential of young people from marginalized and less privileged communities through storytelling.

“This is the second edition of what we think is an amazing tool for us to come together and communicate issues of importance as we have fun and get creative with problem-solving. Fashion is a great communication and behavioral change tool, so we are coming together with the designer to use the amazing craft of fashion to create a platform for untold stories,” said Lwanyaaga.

The Foundation has operations in different parts of the country, including the wellbeing/menstruation center in Kisenyi. They work with partners to give young people in underserved communities a voice of expression, a choice of life, and an opportunity to succeed in a world system that has previously left them behind.

During the event, The Well-being Foundation will launch Wuzi, a fashion brand with a unique approach to storytelling and human connection.
