Museveni to Trump: Your Victory Reflects Majority's Sentiment in USA
President Yoweri Museveni has remarked that Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential elections reflects the sentiments of most Americans.
In a congratulatory message shared via X on Friday, 8 November, Museveni expressed Uganda’s hopes for mutually beneficial engagement with Trump’s administration.
"I am writing on behalf of the people of Uganda to congratulate you on the historic victory you achieved on the 8th of November, 2024. By winning both the popular and Electoral College votes, your victory was a true reflection of the feeling of the majority of citizens in the USA," Museveni said.
"We, the freedom-loving people of Uganda, look forward to mutually beneficial engagement with your administration. Yours-in-search for peace and mutually beneficial co-operation."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Trump’s “historic return” and reaffirmed a “powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America.” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commended Trump’s principle of “peace through strength,” hoping it would contribute to peace in Ukraine’s conflict with Russia.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to the US-UK alliance, citing shared democratic and economic values. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, referring to Trump as a friend, offered “heartiest congratulations” and looked forward to strengthening U.S.-India relations.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa echoed similar sentiments, anticipating continued collaboration as South Africa and the U.S. prepare for back-to-back G20 presidencies in 2025 and 2026, respectively.
