Nagirinya, Kitayimbwa Murder: Suspect Captured on CCTV Camera Arrested
The police and sister security agencies have arrested one of the prime suspects behind the kidnap and murder of social worker Maria Nagirinya and her driver, Ronald Kitayimbwa.
Nagirinya was kidnapped from the gate to her home in Lungujja-Busega, killed, and her body dumped in Mukono district.
Addressing a press conference this morning, Fred Enanga, the police spokesman said that three prime suspects that orchestrated the kidnap were picked Sunday night by a joint team of investigators comprising of the Police’s Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) and the Internal Security Organisation (ISO).
Last week, Police released closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage that shows a man behind the steering wheel in Nagirinya’s car.
According to Enanga, the man is among those been arrested and is being interrogated together with other suspects.
Earlier, three suspects had been arrested in connection with the double kidnap and murder.
The three suspects include a bodaboda rider believed to have transported the kidnappers to Nagirinya’s home in Lungujja. Police have not disclosed the identities of the suspects.
