National Water and Sewerage Corporation has introduced an electronic billing system in a move to phase out physical bills.

The exercise is being piloted in a select NWSC service area in Kampala.

According to a statement from NWSC, electronic billing brings ease and convenience to the customer in accessing, receiving, and managing their water and sewerage bills, account statements, and much more.

The new system allows customers to receive the bill by SMS on their phone, or email address. It's also possible to check it on the NWSC website.

How it works

NWSC sends you an SMS message showing units consumed and your outstanding bill at the end of the month.

A link is attached to the SMS so you can visit it to view a detailed water bill. This works for both analog and smartphones.

Customers have been asked to update their contact details including an active phone number and email address to enable us to serve you better.
