Uganda national senior football team alias Uganda Cranes is a point away to qualify for the AFCON 2019 tournament after beating Lesotho 2-0 on Tuesday in their first Group L return leg fixture.

With two games to play, Uganda currently leads the group with 10 points and needs just a point to qualify while second placed Tanzania has 5 points.

Against Lesotho, Farouk Miya was the hero for Uganda netting twice during the first stanza as the two sides failed to strike either nets after the break.

Croatian based Miya struck a thunderbolt just at the 5th minute after a one-two inter-play with Allan Kateregga with Emmanuel Okwi spicing up the move at the right flank of the pitch.

At the 36th minute, Miya was at it again this time round taking matters to his hands, curling a free kick to the back of the net after Emmanuel Okwi was fouled at the edge of the box.

The half time ended with Uganda posing a 2-0 lead against the hosts. After the break, Uganda decided to sit back in most of the period as Lesotho tried to break forward and also introducing forwards into play.

Miya was later withdrawn and Coach Desabre Sebastien replaced him with Moses Waiswa.

Ugandan goal keeper Denis Onyango who is the best custodian in the tournament was also on top of his games making heroic saves to deny the home boys any chance.
