Uganda Cranes on Wednesday lost 1-0 to Central African Republic at the Stade Général Seyni Kountché in Niamey in a game played under floodlights.

C.A.R’s Ralph Kottoy scored the goal of the night towards the end of the first half that proved to be the only difference for the entire game.

Uganda Cranes tried to create room for improvement and rallied back gallantly but were forced to settle for a loss.

With the starters failing to break the deadlock, Uganda Cranes Coach Sebastien Desabre made some changes when William Luwagga Kizito and Milton Karisa became the first two players to be introduced in the 54th minute during a double substitution for Farouk Miya and Yunus Sentamu respectively.

Moments later, Isaac Muleme came on for Allan Kateregga in the 61st minute before striker Edrisa Lubega replaced Aucho Khalid with just three minutes left on the clock.

Uganda will play Niger on Saturday in the final build up match with Coach Desabre set to make changes in order to give young players a chance.

“The players played really well but we just failed to breakthrough. Against Niger we shall seek to score in the early minutes of the game,” Uganda Cranes coach Desabre told reporters during a post-match presser.
