UPDF Chief Political Commissar Inspects CIMIC Activities in Kampala
The Chief Political Commissar (CPC) of the UPDF Maj Gen Henry Matsiko on Monday inspected the ongoing civil-military activities to mark the 40th Tarahesita celebrations.
Tarahesita activities were launched by President Yoweri Museveni in the Greater Masaka region and are meant to give back to the communities for the support they have rendered to the Forces.
According to the UPDF spokesperson, in Wamala village, Wakiso district, UPDF constructed a house for a 90-year-old lady named Kasalina Namugga.
They have also done medical outreaches, fumigated buildings, distribution of mosquito nets, and projects like construction of classroom blocks, wells, bridges, and toilets have been completed.
Maj Gen Matsiko said it’s the UPDF tradition “to always give back to the community as a way of appreciation and cementing our relationship with the wannaichi".
This year's Tarahesita national celebrations are in the Greater Masaka region under the theme "Celebrating UPDF at 40 years, fruits of the fulfilled partnership of maintaining and consolidating the peoples' security, stability and prosperity".
