Police Arrest Three over Nansana Hardware Robbery

Police have arrested three suspects in connection to Wednesday’s shooting and robbery at Cheap Hardware Shop in Nansana, Wakiso district.

“We have arrested three suspects to assist us with investigations. We shall not disclose their identities as it may jeopardize our investigations,” Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango says.

Onyango adds that the investigations into the incident are well on course and “there are good leads” that the police are following. Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to three after one of the injured victims died at the hospital. Onyango says Bugembe Amin died hours later at Mulago Hospital, where he and the other unidentified victim had been rushed with bullet wounds.

Two, including the Assistant Manager Jimmy Atikuru died on the spot. An unspecified amount of money was taken. According to police, the masked gunmen timed when the cashier was preparing to bank the day’s sales.
