Uganda Records 36 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Rises to 317
According to the Ministry of Health, out of the 36 new cases, 24 of them are truck drivers with 20 arriving via Elegu, 2 via Malaba and 1 was from Lia Point of Entry in Arua
Uganda has recorded 36 new COVID-19 cases bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 317 as of Thursday, 28th May, 2020.
According to the Ministry of Health, out of the 36 new cases, 24 of them are truck drivers with 20 arriving via Elegu, 2 via Malaba and 1 was from Lia Point of Entry in Arua.
12 of the other confirmed cases are contacts to previously confirmed truck drivers who were all under quarantine.
"Additionally, 26 positive foreign truck drivers were handed over to their country of origin," a statement of the Ministry of Health says.
So far, Uganda has registered 69 recoveries.
As of today, the Ministry has conducted tests on 2,230 samples; 1,428 from points of entry and 802 from communities and alerts.
