AIGP Asan Kasingye tests positive for Covid19

The Police Chief Political Commissar AIGP Asan Kasingye has tested positive for Covid-19, the respiratory illness caused by the coronavirus.

The AIGP announced his health status in a Sunday afternoon tweet.

"BAD NEW[s]!! I’AM #COVID19 POSITIVE," he tweeted.

The former police spokesman did not pick our call seeking further comment.

Uganda has so far registered 2,263 cases of the coronavirus, 1226 recoveries, and 19 deaths.
