Parliament to Pay Tribute to Late Hotel Africana Proprietor BMK
Parliament is this afternoon expected to pay tribute to the late Proprietor of Hotel Africana, Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige aka BMK.
The proprietor of Hotel Africana and Chairman of BMK Group of Companies succumbed to prostate cancer from Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi last Friday. His body was yesterday returned to Uganda and buried on Sunday at Nkoowe Cemetery.
Members of Parliament are expected to debate a motion for a resolution of Parliament to pay tribute to the late BMK. The motion will be moved by Kampala Central MP Muhammed Nsereko and seconded by Igara County West MP Michael Mawanda.
On Sunday, President Yoweri Museveni eulogized BMK as a great entrepreneur and an innovative business leader, who profitably took advantage of Uganda’s vast business opportunities to create jobs and incomes for our people.
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) councillors are also expected to debate a motion to rename one of the city roads after deceased businessman BMK, for his contribution towards the development of the country.
