UPDF Soldiers in Helicopter Accident ‘Making Great Progress’
The UPDF soldiers that were recently involved in a helicopter accident are on their way to recovery while some have been discharged from hospital.
Earlier today, a team of senior UPDF officers led by the Chief of Staff Land Forces Brig Gen Bob Ogiki visited the soldiers that are admitted at Bombo Military Hospital and other private hospitals in Kampala.
Brig Ogiki who represented the Commander Land Forces Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba was briefed about the health conditions of the soldiers and personally interacted with them.
Brig Ogiki was accompanied by Col McDans Kamugira the Military Assistant to the CLF, Col. Birungi Director Political Education Land Forces, Col Edward Mutaawe Director Personnel and Administration, Col Abigaba Director Logistics and Lt Col Albert Kashakamba Director Intelligence at Land Forces.
According to a source that was part of the team, doctors informed the UPDF team that some of the soldiers have been discharged while those still in hospital are responding well to treatment.
“Our soldiers involved in the helicopter accident are making great progress and some have already been discharged due to the excellent health care services UPDF and the country have,” Gen Kainerugaba who was briefed after the visit tweeted Friday evening.
