Hundreds of NRM youth last week stormed the office of the RDC Bukedea Hajji Ramathan Walugembe who was forced to lock himself in his office for over an hour even after the deployment of Police within Bukedea and Kyoga sub region.
The youth accuse the RDC and NRM Mobiliser Teddy Acham of fueling divisions in the district by creating parallel cliques against political leaders in the district and sabotaging government programs. The youth want the RDC transferred to another district and Acham stops coming to meddle on issues of Bukedea or they will teach her ‘lesson’.
Executive Members of Bukedea district local government headed by the Bukedea LCV Moses Olemukan recently sat and resolved that RDC Walugembe be transferred from the district. LCV said that he has tried to engage the RDC to work as team but it looks like the RDC has his hidden objective and he has failed to work as team including the security personnel in the region.
Olemukan said in most occasions the RDC who is never in office has even been stopping the launch of projects thus delaying the implementation of government programs. Apparently, the RDC has a pending case in police of receiving money in Bukedea Town council by false pretense when he asked the town clerk of Bukedea Town council to give him money to organize a security meeting. It later emerged that none of the members received this money. It is alleged that Walugembe shared the ‘loot’ with the deputy Diso Emmanuel Bafulume who was later dropped by his superiors in Kampala to allow investigations to go on.
DPC Bukedea Ezra Tugume confirmed that the case was opened but declined to reveal the details referring our reporter to the region.
Other members of Bukedea district local government; Emong Showan the Vice Chairman LCV, Okwi Micheal Secretary for Works, Tino Eliodo Christine for Health and Oleuko Julius Secretary for Education accuse the RDC of incompetence and abuse of office.
Walugembe last week told Reporters that he is hated in the district for no reason and that he does not mind being transferred.
