How Thugs Raided Cheap Hardware Nansana
By Fred Kiva
Armed thugs have attacked Cheap Hardware Shop in Nansana, shooting dead two workers and injuring two others.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango says six robbers, three of them armed with AK-47 rifles and ridding on three motorcycles, descended on the Hardware shop at about 2:30 pm on Wednesday. The thugs then shot at workers who were offloading cement from a truck.
Onyango identifies those killed as Jimmy Atikuru, the Assistant Manager and his worker, Frank Aruho. The injured have been rushed to Mulago Hospital. “The thugs who were wearing masks came at a time when the cashiers were about to take money to the bank,” Onyango said in a statement adding that the robbers stole an unspecified amount of money.
“Our investigators are on the ground and we are pursuing the robbers,” Onyango said.
