Security Guard Killed as Thugs Break into MTN Shop in Kagadi

KAGADI. Police in Kagadi district are investigating circumstances under which a security guard working at an MTN shop in Kagadi Town Council has been found killed by yet unknown thugs on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Philip Sunday, a security guard attached to Security Group Africa (SGA) hailing from Kyangwali Sub County in Hoima district.

Ojara Rameo Oneck, the Kagadi District Police Commander says that the deceased’s gun was taken away by the thugs.

He says the deceased was strangled using ropes which have been recovered at the scene.

Ojara explains that the body has been transported to the police morgue pending a postmortem.

He adds that the thugs allegedly stole airtime worth unspecified amounts of money and they are yet to discover if they stole some cash. The shop is located on Market Street in Kagadi town.

Police with  the help of sniffer dogs stormed the scene to investigate the matter but no suspect has been arrested yet.

Salim Kumakech, the Kagadi Resident District Commissioner has asked the public to always cooperate and support the security agencies to curb crime.
