President Museveni Signs Victoria University's Charter

Victoria University is now chartered, The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) Executive Director Prof. Mary Okwakol said in a Tuesday statement.

According to the statement, President Yoweri Museveni signed the university's charter on July 31.

"H.E the President of the Republic of Uganda signed the Charter for Victoria University on 31st July 2022," reads the statement.

"On behalf of the National Council for Higher Education and on my own behalf, I congratulate Victoria University upon this achievement," it adds.

"The National Council for Higher Education, as a practice, would like to officially hand ver the harter to Victoria University."

Prof Okwakol said the charter will be handed over to the university at a ceremony scheduled to take place on Friday 19th August 2022 at the NCHE Secretariat at 11:00 am.

Founded in 2011, the university offers undergraduate and post-graduate programmes in business, health sciences, technology, and humanities.
