
Gen Kainerugaba Promoted to Four Star General as Muhanga Takes Over as CLF
President Yoweri Museveni who is also the Commander in Chief of the armed forces has promoted Muhoozi Kainerugaba to the rank of General, the highest military rank in Uganda.
According to information from highly places military sources Gen Kainerugaba has also been removed from his position as Commander Land Forces and replaced by Lt Gen has been promoted to the rank of General. Gen Kainerugaba has also been been moved from his position as Commander Land Forces and replaced by Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga who has now been elevated from the rank of Major General. Lt Gen Muhanga has been the Commander of the UPDF mountain division as well as the commander Operation Shujaa against ADF terrorists in DRC.
The Kampala Post understands that Gen Kainerugaba retains his position as the Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations.
Gen Kainerugaba, a highly trained military officer has served in various capacities in the UPDF including recently as Commander SFC and CLF. He has commanded several battles against NRA, ADF and Alshabaab in Somalia.
Profile
Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on 24 April 1974 to Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of Uganda and Janet Kataha Museveni.
He began his early school life in Tanzania, then Mount Kenya Academy in Nyeri, Kenya and later studied in Sweden.
After his father became President of the Republic of Uganda, Museveni’s family returned to Uganda and Muhoozi attended Kampala Parents School, King’s College Buddo for a while and St. Mary’s College Kisubi, a Kampala neighbourhood, where he completed both O’ and A’ Level.
Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba was later admitted to Egyptian Military Academy where he studied Company Commander’s Course and Battalion Commander’s Course. Then Kalama Armoured Warfare Training School, in Kabamba, Mubende District, located in the Central region of Uganda.
In 2007 Gen Muhoozi was admitted to a one-year course at the United States Army Commander and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, graduating in June 2008.
After, Gen Muhoozi completed the Executive National Security Programme at the South African National Defense College.
He also attended Royal Military Academy Sand Hurst, where Gen. Muhoozi studied Officer Cadet Course. Including US Army Command and General Staff College, where he studied Senior Military Command Course
Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, began his military training in 1994 after he graduated from high school. But he did not formally join the UPDF until 1999. He was then admitted to the Royal Military College Sand Hurst, graduating in 2000.
General Muhoozi Kainerugaba is married to Charlotte Nankunda Kutesa and they are blessed with children.
