Zimbabwe Leader Mnangagwa Graces Uganda’s 57th Independence Celebration

President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe arrived in Uganda on Tuesday evening for a two-day State Visit at the invitation of his host, President Yoweri Museveni.

President Mnangagwa is expected to grace Uganda’s 57th Independence anniversary celebrations, scheduled to take place in Sironko District today (Wednesday). The Zimbabwe leader was received by his host at State House, Entebbe on Tuesday evening. He was treated to a 21-gun salute among other receiving ceremonies.

The two leaders later held tete-a-tete talks.

Uganda attained independence from the British colonialists on October 9, 1962. Since then, October 9, has been annually marked as Independence Day.
